Fishing at Goat Rock Lake, Georgia
West Georgia lakes are known for bream fishing. Bluegill and Redear Sunfish are caught around docks and piers. Largemouth Bass are abundant and the number of Spotted Bass is increasing steadily. White Bass and Hybrid Bass fishing is outstanding. Striped Bass have been stocked annually since 1992. Channel Catfish and White Catfish fishing is good anytime of year, while Crappie fishing months are February through April.

Georgia Power works with the Georgia DNR to maintain quality fish habitats in Lake Harding, Goat Rock, and Oliver. The agency regularly takes random fish samplings from these reservoirs, which it checks for species diversity and population, and coordinates with Georgia Power periodic draw-downs to enhance the habitats.
